Eng. Mahmoud Tawfiq, CEO of the national group “Fixed Solutions”, said that within the framework of Egypt’s 2030 vision for digital transformation of individuals and governments, and in order to make it easier for citizens to request their services online, the Egyptian state aimed to launch Egypt’s digital services (phase two), after the success of the first phase, which was launched at the level of Port Said governorate.
Tawfiq added, during his meeting with journalist Hassan Othman, on the “Digital Nation” program broadcast on the “Al-Hadath Today” channel, that as the state promised to continue spreading the rest of the services at the level of the republic for the benefit of the Egyptian people, and in this context we worked alongside with the related work group represented by the national group “Fixed Solutions” for digital transformation and cyber security services by contributing and participating with the national work team in developing the electronic platform for Digital Egypt (the first and second stage).
He explained that the National Group represents a major breakthrough towards relying on the creative Egyptian youth in developing mechanisms and using (national) technology that has been fully developed to include all elements of information technology as well as ensuring information insurance and building the structural design of the digital platform completely in accordance with international standards, and from here the role of the Egyptian state in building New national capabilities capable of sustaining strategic and national projects to be completed in all their phases, relying on Egyptian minds and hands.
He revealed that the volume of requests made through the digital platform is monitored 24 hours a day, as well as instant data review through central reports that include all data on the volume of transactions, geographical and demographic distribution, as well as the status of the system, around the clock, explaining that what is new in this is that these technological systems have been developed And to make them fully available and programmed by Egyptian youth, the investment was made in developing these systems to suit the needs of Egypt’s digital system.
He continued: This has been launched experimental” Digital Egypt “services at the level of the Republic through the digital platform of Egypt and post offices, which includes 70 digital services with catering and documentation services, and renewing vehicle and driving licenses, in addition to the services of filing lawsuits through the digital Egypt platform without the need to go to the court.
He revealed the launch of a mobile application within weeks that would also enable users to obtain services, commenting: “150 digital government services have been launched in Port Said Governorate during the first phase; these services are made available to citizens through five outlets, which are mobile applications and a digital platform on the Internet, citizen services centers, call centers, and the Egyptian Post.
He pointed out that digital transformation in Egypt is an essential part of its existing plan and represents the National Strategy for Sustainable Development 2030, which was developed by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in cooperation with all entities and ministries participating in the system as guidelines aimed at transforming Egypt into a central hub for communications and technology at the regional and global levels, with There is a great interest in cyber security and data security within the framework of implementing the plan to build a digital Egypt; As there are efforts being made to develop the information infrastructure and ensure the sustainability of providing the services needed by the citizen around the clock with ease.
